Remember, not all banks have the same schedule. Some banks stay open on holidays to provide a more convenient service to their customers while others seem to be closed almost every single day of the calendar year.
It is up to you to know when your bank is open and when it is not, whether it’s a holiday or not.
It is also a wise decision to understand your banks ATM’s (automatic Teller Machine) “holidays” and schedule.
Even though an ATM is computerized, that does not mean all transactions you do with your bank’s ATM happen or clear in seconds as one would think.
Sometimes deposits aren’t computed for 24 hours. Or if it is a holiday, funds are not available until the “next business day” and you need to wait until your able to use your deposited cash.
And still, for some small banks, anything deposited into the ATM system, even checks or cash, need to be verified by an actual teller before being available to you as funds that can be spent immediately.
And this only happens on normal business days. Not when the bank is closed.
Luckily for Wells Fargo customers, you can use any cash you deposit into your ATM machine in seconds using your bank card.
But, for checks things become more complicated. If it is an out of state check, you may need to wait as long as 5 days. Or WF may give you a portion of the check while the rest clears. It isn’t always a cut and dry case and if you need your funds immediately, I would highly suggest you despot your checks directly with a live person, bank teller, so that you can ask them what the specifics are regarding your specific check.
